For today's entry, I'm going to talk about my most favorite self care ritual which is taking ✨jogs or runs✨ in the afternoon 🏃🏻♀️💨
This habit started during my two-week break after my 2nd Year 2nd semester clinicals. I noticed I was a bit out of shape at that time from sitting all day. And I was so insecure about my huge thighs and that made me research about things I can do to sculpt and lose a couple of pounds. I was actually inspired by my little brother to work out because before the pandemic he was still quite chubby. Then I guess as he is growing into his teen years, he started to build up these insecurities that's why he started his weight loss journey. Now he's fitter that he's ever been. So I've started to bring this up to myself as a way to be nicer to my body. Obviously, losing weight isn't all about exercising. It should also come with a healthy diet along with a healthy lifestyle.

In the past, I've always dreaded the thought of going to the gym because of my social anxiety. I used to force myself into doing home workouts that I usually don't enjoy. Basically, I hated exercising until I found something physically benefiting that I enjoyed which is running or jogging. Specifically, I like running or jogging in the afternoon about 4 PM onwards. Earlier than that would be harmful for my skin because the sun's still too hot. One thing I love most about running is that I get to explore my area. I can't say I'm fully connected with nature whenever I'm running, mainly because I'm running on pavement. But somehow I get to see the trees and grass on the empty lots of my subdivision and the dogs that walk around every alley. The thought of that alone refreshes my mind from a day full of stress. Another is that I get some alone time, listening to my favorite music. Lastly, of course, this helps my body a lot by boosting my metabolism and improving my balance and aerobic capacity.
Here's a video of me at the start of my run:
